Public Commentary

According to the commentary in RPC I No. 1734, a lyre may be shown on the back, which could be used to interpret the head as Apollo. However, a double line is also conceivable, here in analogy to the simple line at RPC I No. 1735. The countermark with the sixrayed star on the front is attributed to Imbros and appears on coins from the Augustan period.
