The conference is held by the Greek Ministry of Culture and the
Ephorates of Antiquities of Thrace (Xanthe, Rhodope, Hebros), in
partnership with the National Archaeological Institute with Museum at
the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences and Istanbul University.
Devoted
to the larger topic of town and country in the Roman and Late Antique
Thrace, the scholarly meeting focuses on the organization, space, and
infrastructure of urban and rural areas, including private and public
spaces, as well as the landscapes of this historical region.
