Coins of the BBAW in the District Museum Marzahn-Hellersdorf

A showcase of the special exhibition "Street, Houses, People" is dedicated to the former head of the Griechisches Münzwerk, Edith Schönert-Geiß.

The exhibition, which opened in March, tells stories of five streets in the Berlin district. One of these streets is Hönower Straße in Mahlsdorf. Edith Schönert-Geiß lived here for a long time in house No. 171. She and her work at the academy are presented in the showcase. These include a number of items on loan from the BBAW - from sealing wax casts to original coins from Augusta Traiana. The exhibition can be visited until November 5, 2023.
