Corpus Nummorum and Artificial Intelligence: Opportunities and Challenges
As part of the lecture series initiated by the Numismatic Commission of the States of the Federal Republic of Germany (https://www.dng-nnb.de/index.php/vereine/77-dng/257-numismatik-vernetzt#aktuell), we have been given the opportunity to present this project, which commenced in July and is funded by the German Research Foundation: “Data quality for Numismatics based on Natural language processing and Neural Networks.“ We will briefly introduce the first stages of the development of our CN-portal and outline our current goals, which we would like to implement with the aid of Artificial Intelligence. We hope you will be excited to learn about one of the largest numismatic photo archives and how text and image recognition technology works for coins.
On behalf of the entire CN team, Angela Berthold, Sebastian Gampe, Ulrike Peter, and Karsten Tolle look forward to your participation.
