Please Join the Presentation “On both sides of the Hellespontus– Coela and the Regional Transformation in the 3rd Century AD” by Antony Hostein

Professor Antony Hostein, director at the École Pratique des Hautes Études in Paris, is a visiting scholar at Corpus Nummorum for five months. On Thursday, June 13, 2019 at 4 pm, he will give a public lecture at our centre “Grundlagenforschung Alte Welt” at the Berlin-Brandenburg Academy of Sciences and Humanities, Unter den Linden 8, room 07W04. Everybody is warmly welcome.

Antony Hostein has already published Volume IX of Roman Provincial Coinage together with Jerome Mairat. He is currently working on Volume V.1 of this project, which covers the Severan period in north-western Asia Minor. Because of our project publishing the coins of Mysia and Troad in Berlin, we enjoy many fruitful discussions. We look very much forward to his paper on the Thracian colony Coela with its interesting coinage especially in the 3rd century AD. Numismatic evidence will be interpreted here in the context of ancient texts and inscriptions.
