The Future Meets the Past: AI and Archaeology
The two-part exhibition presents, for the first time, the results of the large-scale excavation at the “Steinäcker” site in Heilbronn. While the Museum im Deutschhof showcases major finds such as the Roman statue of Mercury, the visitor center of the IPAI Foundation at the IPAI SPACES highlights the use of artificial intelligence in archaeology, features works by the artist Egor Kraft, and invites visitors to interact with Mercury as an avatar.
Our Academy project is participating with an interactive application for the automatic identification of coin types and mints, as well as with a film on the use of AI in Imagines Nummorum, which is also accessible via our website.
