We are delighted that our highly esteemed colleague and friend, Prof. Dr. Alexander Bursche from the University of Warsaw, has received the award of €80,000 from the Fritz Thyssen Foundation and the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation. The prize honors outstanding foreign scholars in the humanities and social sciences who have made a special contribution to the development of lasting and fruitful scientific relations between Germany and their countries of origin. Over the years, Alek Bursche has built up a unique numismatic school, which includes not only young Polish scientists, but also colleagues from Ukraine and Belarus.
